Honeywell Spectra Fiber is one of the world's strongest and lightest Polyethylene Fibers for peak performance. Pound-for-pound, Spectra Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber (UHMWPE) is 15 times stronger than steel, more durable than polyester, and has a specific strength that is 40 percent greater than aramid fiber.

Honeywell’s S-900 and S-1000 product lines offer a wide range of Spectra® performance fiber levels and deniers to meet the needs of a wide range of applications. Selecting the right rope or net for a job depends on multiple concerns of construction, composition and function.

The Spectra S-900 fiber was the first commercially available extended-chain, high-strength polyethylene fiber and the first in a series of Spectra fibers. It is available in multiple deniers (650 - 5600). Spectra S-1000, the second in a series of Spectra fibers, was developed to meet customers’ needs for increased performance. It is available in deniers ranging from 75 to 2600.

Spectra S-1000 Series

Spectra® 75 Denier (S-1000) is one of the world’s strongest (43 / 3.68 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 75 / 83 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 7 lbs with an elongation of 2.9%.
Spectra® 100 Denier (S-1000) is one of the world’s strongest (40.5 / 3.47 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 100 / 111 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 9 lbs with an elongation of 2.9%.
