Spectra® 75 is one of the world’s strongest (43 / 3.68 g/den) and lightest fibers with a denier of 75 / 83 decitex. The breaking strength of this product is 7 lbs with an elongation of 2.9%.
Overview
Honeywell Spectra® fiber provides lightweight, dependable strength in demanding applications. Produced using a patented gel-spinning process, it is:
- A bright white polyethylene fiber with high resistance to chemicals, water and ultraviolet light
- Stronger than steel and 40 percent stronger than aramid fiber
- Capable of withstanding high-load strain-rate velocities
