A-C® Performance Additives
The world's widest, most versatile family of low molecular weight polymers
The A-C® brand is one of the world's leading manufacturers of low molecular weight polyethylene polymer and copolymer Performance Additives. We have the know-how and technical expertise to consistently deliver products of the highest quality and overcome formulating challenges.
Prominent product features include improved abrasion resistance, controlled slip, anti-blocking, modified solvent rheology and viscosity, controlled gloss, enhanced moisture and chemical resistance, and modified melt flow characteristics of thermoplastic resins.
A-C® offers more formulation performance, cost savings and manufacturing efficiencies for such diverse markets as paints, inks, adhesives, coatings, and plastic processing.
The A-C line includes
- A-C® 6A is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in powdered form used as a dispersing agent in color masterbatch applications. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 8A is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in powdered form, for use in solvent borne coatings, heatset and liquid solvent borne inks, to improve surface properties. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 325 is a high-density oxidized polyethylene (HD OX PE) homopolymer with an acid number of 25. This allows it to be emulsified into water. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 5120 is an ethylene acrylic acid (EAA) copolymer in a prill form, with an acrylic acid content of 15%, for use in adhesives to promote adhesion to various substrates. Its acid number of 120 greatly aids emulsification allowing dispersion or emulsification in water. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 400 is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer in prill form, with a VA content of 13%, used extensively in hot melt adhesives (HMAs) to control rheology and boost adhesion. It can be added as a diluent but provides the dual function of reducing application viscosity at melt, while providing an adhesion boost versus homopolymer, non-functional diluents. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 325 has an acid number of 25, which allows it to be emulsified into water. It can also provide heat resistance to hot melt adhesives (HMAs). See the datasheet.
- AC® 405T is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer in prill form, with a VA content of 6%, for use in solvent-borne coatings to control rheology and provide metallic flake orientation. It is used extensively in automotive basecoats. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 629A is a low-density oxidized polyethylene (LD OX PE) homopolymer in prill form for use in solvent-borne coatings as a rheological aid. It can also be atmospherically emulsified for use in aqueous applications such as textiles and coatings to lower the COF and provide surface properties such as mar and abrasion resistance and increased slip. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 6A is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in powdered form used as a dispersing agent in color masterbatch applications. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 16A is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in powder form used mainly as a dispersing agent in color masterbatches for plastic applications. It can also be used as an external lubricant in PVC processing. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 316A is a hard, high drop point, high density, oxidized polyethylene (HD OX PE) homopolymer, in finer powder form than A-C 316. It improves surface properties, including mar and abrasion resistance, by lowering the coefficient of friction. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 307A is a high-density oxidized polyethylene (HD OX PE) homopolymer with a hard, high drop point, high density, higher molecular weight, in a finer powder form than A-C 307. It is mainly used as a metal release agent for PVC processing. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 392 has an acid number of 30 that allows it to be emulsified into water. It can also provide heat resistance to hot melt adhesives (HMAs) and is an effective metal release agent for cellular PVC applications, without a negative effect on foam density. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 629A is a low-density oxidized polyethylene (LD OX PE) homopolymer in powder form for use as a metal release agent in PVC. It is a pigment dispersing agent for color masterbatch. See the datasheet.
- A-C® 617A is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in a powdered form. It is used as a release agent in rubber processing and also helps with dispersion of the various ingredients in the rubber compound, which leads to better development of end-use properties. See the datasheet.
