ACumist® Specialty Additives

Better formulations and improved performance in paints and coatings, and plastics and rubber

Honeywell’s ACumist® brand supports manufacturers with better formulations and improved performance in their paints and coatings, and plastics and rubber. Create deeper matte finishes, improve abrasion resistance, and get better slip control with our low molecular weight and micronized polyethylene polymers and copolymer additives. ACumist® products are insoluble in solvents and UV-based monomers and oligomers at room temperature.

The ACumist® line includes

  • ACumist® A-6 has a small particle size with oxidized high-density polyethylene available for water- or solvent-based thin film applications. Excellent slip, and abrasion resistance for use in flexographic inks, wood and industrial coatings applications.
  • ACumist® A-12 is used in water-based coatings, flexographic and gravure inks and overprint varnishes. It also can be used as a processing aid, matting and anti-settling agent in paints.
  • ACumist® A-18 has larger particle size than ACumist A 12 for water-based coating and use in paper coatings to improve anti-blocking, slip and release.
  • ACumist®1812 is used in water-based coatings, flexographic and gravure inks and overprint varnishes. It also can be used as a processing aid, matting and anti-settling agent in paints.
  • ACumist® B-6 is used in general-purpose and high-gloss solvent-borne and UV/EB-cured coatings, can and container coatings, solvent-based gravure and flexographic and generally liquid inks. It is especially useful for improving slip and rubs in inks.
  • ACumist® B-12 is used in solvent-borne coatings, stains and lacquers, and solvent-based flexographic inks.
  • ACumist® C-12 is for solvents-based gravure ink and industrial coatings applications. Excellent slip and rubs, and abrasion resistance.
  • ACumist® C-5 is medium-particle size for use in solvent-borne coatings and solvent-based flexographic inks. It is best-suited for offset inks, can coatings, and all thin film solvent-based coatings.
  • ACumist® D-6 is used for general-purpose solvent-borne coatings, stains and lacquers, and gravure inks. It provides a good balance of properties where economics are of paramount concern.
  • ACumist® D-9 is a micronized polyethylene homopolymer used in general-purpose solvent-borne coatings, stains and lacquers, and gravure inks. It provides a good balance of properties where economics are of paramount concern. Its main use is in Gravure inks for slip and rubs.
  • ACumist® D-12 is used in high-gloss and general-purpose solvent-borne coatings, stains and lacquers, and gravure inks. It provides a good balance of properties where economics are of paramount concern. Good for slip, scratch, abrasion resistance and matting.
  • ACumist® P-10 is used for matting and non-skid or non-slip applications for industrial solvent coatings. Excellent abrasion resistance. Used in powder coatings for matting and scratch resistance.
  • ACumist® P-5 is used for matting and non-skid or non-slip applications for thin-film, solvent-based inks and coatings. Excellent abrasion, rub and scratch resistance.
  • ACumist 3105G is used in solvent-based coatings to provide slip, abrasion resistance, and aid in metal fabrication in rigid packaging, and coil coated metals.
  • ACumist 3405G is used in solvent-based coatings to provide slip, abrasion and aid in metal fabrication, in rigid packaging, coil-coated metals, wood coatings for scratch resistance, matting, touch and feel.
