KEEP THE PLANET COOL AND YOUR HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE COOLER

Enable regulatory compliance without sacrificing performance with low-GWP Solstice® yf technology

On a Mission to Keep Your Heavy-Duty Vehicle and the Planet Cool

For decades, the automotive industry used hydrofluorocarbon HFC-134a as a mobile air conditioning refrigerant. This material is effective at cooling vehicles but contributes to global warming and is being phased out globally by many countries under the Kigali Amendment. In 2011, low global warming potential (GWP), Honeywell Solstice® yf (R-1234yf) was invented. Over ten years later, there are more than 185 million vehicles on the road using 1234yf which greatly reduces emissions and benefits planet Earth. Today 1234yf is used by every automobile maker in the world because of its proven performance, ease of use and safety standards.

Make the switch today! Convert your heavy-duty off-road and on-road vehicles to Solstice® yf.

Focus on a Better Tomorrow, Today

Due to the AIM Act in the US and F-Gas in the EU, the allowable production and consumption of HFC quota in the US and EU will reduce again in 2024. As a result, the supply and price of 134a may become more volatile. With additional HFC quota reductions planned beyond 2024, 134a volatility is expected to continue to increase as the US and EU essentially phase out all HFCs over the next decade.  In fact, the US has proposed a ban of 134a in all Heavy-Duty Off-Road vehicles effective 2026.

Why wait until the last minute to convert when your back is up against the wall and you can’t find enough 134a, or it becomes too expensive?Make the switch today! Convert your heavy-duty off-road and on-road vehicles to Solstice® yf.

Easy to adopt and use

Solstice® yf is easy to adopt and use at your manufacturing site because it is a near drop-in replacement for 134a. Solstice® yf provides efficient and effective cooling and heating for conventional air conditioning systems as well as newer hybrid or electric-vehicle heat pump systems for heavy-duty applications.

How a major global producer of heavy trucks in Europe reduced its emissions by more than 143,000 tons of CO2 per year with Solstice® yf refrigerant.
